Pre-Primary Teacher Training FAQs

Short answers to the questions people ask most about levels, fees, eligibility, certificates and jobs.

APTTI's pre-primary teacher training has four online levels from 6 to 18 months, with fees from ₹10,000 + GST or US$170 to ₹35,000 + GST or US$549. Eligibility starts at 10th pass. For longer answers, see the question library.

What is pre-primary teacher training?

It is a course that prepares you to teach children aged about 2 to 6 in nursery, LKG, UKG, kindergarten and play-school classes, covering child development, play-based teaching, early literacy and numeracy, classroom management and working with parents.

Which levels does APTTI offer?

Four levels: Certificate (120 hours, 6 months), Diploma (200 hours, 10 months), PG Diploma (240 hours, 12 months) and Integrated PG Diploma (480 hours, 18 months).

What are the fees?

Certificate ₹10,000 or US$170; Diploma ₹20,000 or US$325; PG Diploma ₹30,000 or US$475; Integrated PG Diploma ₹35,000 or US$549. GST is added to the rupee fee.

What is the eligibility?

10th pass for the Certificate, 12th pass for the Diploma, and graduation in any subject for the PG Diploma and Integrated PG Diploma. No entrance exam or teaching experience is needed.

Is the course online?

Yes. APTTI offers the course online and by distance learning, with 24/7 access to materials, unlimited downloads and tutor support.

Can I study from outside India?

Yes. Learners in the Middle East, Africa and Asia study online and pay in US dollars.

What will I study?

Child development and psychology, teaching methods, classroom management, language development, creative activities (art, music and drama) and lesson planning. Supervised teaching practice may be included; confirm with admissions.

How is the course assessed?

Each module ends with 10 multiple-choice questions, and answer keys are sent so you can check your work. Diploma-level courses also need a final assignment and a lesson plan, which senior mentors review within about ten days; if changes are needed you revise and resubmit.

What certificate will I receive?

A certificate for your level from AP Teacher Training Institute. APTTI states that certificates are notarised in Canada, carry the APTTI and International TEFL Canada logos and do not mention the mode of study.

How long does certificate delivery take?

APTTI states certificates are dispatched 30 to 90 days after completion, with no shipping charge for Indian learners.

Is the certificate government-recognised?

No. APTTI is a private autonomous institute and its courses are not approved by NCTE, UGC or any ministry. Private schools and pre-schools widely accept such training, but government posts follow their own rules.

Can I get a government teaching job with this course?

Not on its own. Government posts in India follow NCTE and state recruitment rules, which usually require recognised qualifications such as DPSE, D.El.Ed or B.Ed.

Is B.Ed required for pre-primary teaching?

Not usually in private pre-schools, which commonly accept pre-primary, NTT, Montessori or ECCE training. Some schools and government posts may require it.

Does APTTI help with jobs?

APTTI offers job assistance at the end of the course. This is support and guidance, not a guaranteed placement.

Can I study while working?

Yes. Most levels need about 5 hours a week (6 to 7 for the Integrated PG Diploma), and you study at your own pace.

Can I pay in instalments?

No instalment plan is published. Ask admissions about payment options, GST and the refund policy before paying.

Can graduates join the PG Diploma directly?

Yes. APTTI's FAQ says graduates do not need to complete the Diploma first.

Can I upgrade from the Certificate later?

Yes, progression to a higher level is possible once you meet its eligibility. Ask admissions about any credit or fee adjustment.

How is pre-primary different from NTT?

They overlap. NTT at APTTI focuses on ages 0 to 5 with more on care, health and safety; pre-primary covers ages about 2 to 6 with more on teaching methods for nursery, LKG and UKG.

Is Montessori included?

Montessori-influenced methods are part of the pre-primary course. The full Montessori Teacher Training course is separate, at the same fees.

How do I apply?

Fill in the online application form. Admissions will confirm eligibility, send payment details and give you access once the fee is paid.

Is there an age limit?

No upper age limit is published. You need to meet the qualification for your level and be an adult to enrol.

Are there practical components?

Yes. You apply methods with children and are assessed through assignments and a lesson plan; supervised teaching practice in a pre-primary classroom may be included, so ask admissions how it works where you live.

Which teaching methods will I learn?

Play-based learning, storytelling, songs and rhymes, activity-based and thematic teaching, Montessori-influenced methods and child-centred classroom management.

Is there tutor support?

Yes. Student coordinators answer by email or chat Monday to Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm (IST), senior academic staff can be booked for a call, and tutors answer urgent WhatsApp messages.

Are there live classes?

APTTI runs 4 to 5 live classes or webinars led by experienced professionals, alongside the 24/7 online materials.

What language is the course in?

English. You need enough English to read the modules and write assignments; in class you can also use children's home languages.

Are scholarships available?

APTTI does not publish a scholarship scheme. Ask admissions about current offers and payment options.

Can I specialise in an age group?

The pre-primary course focuses on ages 2 to 6, and APTTI describes it as covering methods up to age 12. For babies and toddlers choose NTT or ECCE; PG Diploma specialisations can be discussed with admissions.
